My name is Pete Vega and I love cars. I got the love of cars from my father. Growing up, my dad had a 1956 Mercury Mont Claire. He loved that car! The stories he told me about the car, the smile on his face when he talked about it, and the joy we shared when he took me riding in it, made me realize and appreciate how transformative an automobile could be.
My wife, Maxine, also loves cars. It’s a shared love and bond between us. You can often find us at car shows or cruising the city together on weekends. Being a part of the car culture unites us and anchors us to the community.
My very first car was a 1965 Impala. I got it when I was 15. That’s when I started to grow my knowledge and passion for cars. Throughout my life I’ve owned over 400+ cars. American made muscle cars, sports cars, cruisers, lowriders, and trucks – lots of lifted, big trucks and even a lifted big car… many, many cars. I’ve always had several cars in various stages of “build” process.
It brings me joy to hear stories from people’s rekindled memories when they look at my cars. I love to see the excitement in kids’ eyes when they see one of my cars. It makes me happy to see the joy in another person’s face when one of my cars sparks a flashback in their mind.
